Popular unicycle performer Red Panda injured at halftime of WNBA game

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — During the intermission of Tuesday night’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx, Red Panda, a popular halftime show performer, fell from her unicycle and crashed to the court, unable to complete her performance.

The extent of her injuries was not immediately known. After the incident, she fell forward off the unicycle onto the court and was assisted off the floor by a wheelchair. She seemed to be pulling at her left wrist.

Rong Niu, often known as Red Panda, is a Chinese American lady who was raised in an acrobatic family. She balances specially crafted bowls on her lower leg before flipping them on top of her head while riding on her custom-built unicycle, which is around eight feet above the court.

She has played in innumerable basketball games, including last month’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City.
