You may have missed this strange story: parents at a middle school in North Texas are furious that their kids were tattooing each other with the same pen! There are many questions about how this could have happened, so it’s clear that an investigation is happening!
The event took place on February 27 at Travis Intermediate in the Greenville ISD, which is northeast of Dallas. The tattoo shop was reported to the police when a parent saw that their son had new tattoos on his arm when he got home. Ashley Armstrong says that the school nurse called her and told her to take her 11-year-old son Jordan to get some medical tests.
Jordan’s tests didn’t come back negative, which is good news, but Armstrong told Fox 4 News that she wants to know what happened because the tattooing seems to have happened in a classroom. How come there was no supervision? Teenagers said that at least one teacher was in the room with them while they got tattoos.
Armstrong says that her son did say that the needle had been used more than once. Also, the school says the ink didn’t last long. After the incident, Greenville ISD admitted that students did get tattoos at school. As a result, the “teachers assigned to the classrooms were suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.” Greenville ISD said they were working with the police, but they wouldn’t say how many other kids had tattoos.
For many students, middle school can be a tough change, and it looks like this crazy event will stay with these students forever.
