As a result of a recent collision, a father and daughter from Taunton sustained significant injuries, and individuals who are familiar with them are attempting to gather money to assist in their recovery.
At around 5:30 p.m. on March 19th, Raynham dispatchers received many 911 calls reporting a crash near 165 New State Highway (Route 44), roughly one mile west of the junction with Route 24. This information was provided by the Raynham Police Department and the Raynham Fire Department.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2020 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 44 westbound when it collided with a 2012 Harley-Davidson that was traveling in the other direction, toward the east. The rider of the Harley-Davidson was a 55-year-old male, and he was accompanied by a 16-year-old female passenger.
While the police conducted their investigation, Route 44 remained closed for close to two hours.

Firefighters from Raynham took the motorcyclist, who was from Taunton, to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton so that he could receive treatment for injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
Firefighters from Raynham took the female passenger on the motorcycle to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead immediately after the accident.
Brewster Ambulance helped transfer the driver of the Camry, a Middleborough resident who was 74 years old, to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where she was treated for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
Firefighters from Bridgewater transported a man passenger in the Camry who was 50 years old and from Middleborough to Morton Hospital in Taunton with injuries that were not stated with regard to the nature of the injuries.
The person who was riding the motorcycle was identified as Scott Blake, according to a GoFundMe campaign. This passenger was his daughter, who was sixteen years old.
Over the course of his total 27 years of service in the United States Army, Major Scott Blake has earned numerous honors and decorations. In addition to his position as a public safety officer at Morton Hospital, he is presently serving as the director for veteran services in the town of Raynham. In addition to this, he is the chairman of the Patriot Riders of America CH7, a charitable organization that provides assistance to veterans, first responders, and their families all over the community. He is also one of the founders of the organization.
The injuries that Blake experienced were extremely severe and potentially fatal. These injuries included a broken jaw, a shattered pelvis, and a brain bleed.
According to those who are familiar with him, Scott’s condition has shown signs of recovery; however, he still has a significant distance to travel and will be required to endure a number of surgeries.
As of the time of this writing, the fundraising event had raised more than $17,000.
