The local community is banding together to provide assistance to a local family who is going through a difficult period.
On March 13th, Cullen Cook, who is three years old and lives in Swansea, was given a diagnosis of B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL), which is a severe form of blood and bone marrow cancer. This information was provided by a GoFundMe fundraiser.
The members of Cullen’s family have stated that he is a happy and active little kid who enjoys dancing, playing video games, being a superhero, and listening to music, particularly the soundtrack of the Astro Bot.
He continues to amaze us with his courage and spirit on a daily basis, even while he is facing with the most difficult elements of therapy.
In the past month, Cullen has courageously endured numerous rounds of chemotherapy, spinal taps, bone marrow samples, and a blood transfusion. Other treatments include spinal taps. He will continue to follow the treatment plan for the following two and a half years.
Given that Cullen’s mother, Caitlin, has taken time off from her job in order to be by her son’s side, the purpose of the fundraising, which has already garnered more than $18,000 in just twenty hours, is to assist with medical and other expenses.
The amount of support that has been shown by the community in such a short period of time has left Cullen’s aunt speechless.
“We are entirely and utterly astounded. Over the course of only half a day, your generosity, kindness, and support have empowered us in ways that we are unable to adequately express. It has been tremendously inspiring to get the donations, shares, and messages of love that have been sent our way, and we feel as like we are encircled by caring and community. We are both quite humbled, Caitlin and I. Understanding that we are not the only ones fighting for Cullen is of the utmost importance.
He is shown an incredible amount of bravery in the face of this challenge, and your support is helping us to maintain our strength. We are grateful to you from the depths of our hearts. At every stage of the process, we will continue to keep you informed about how Cullen is doing. It would mean the world to my family if you could make a donation or share this website with their friends and relatives. Their burden will be lessened as a result of your support, and they will be reminded that they are not fighting this battle alone.
