New York- Orange and Putnam counties have been put under a winter weather warning because snow and a wintry mix of rain, snow, and sleet are expected to hit the area early Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service put out the warning for Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 2 AM to 10 AM. Between 1 and 2 inches of snow is likely to fall, and up to 3 to 4 inches may fall in places higher than 750 feet.
The National Weather Service says that the rain will start overnight and then turn into snow or a mix of the two around 2 to 4 AM. The weather is likely to change back to rain by mid-morning. Visitors to the area should be aware that the roads may be slippery, so they should be extra careful when driving.
The advisory affects I-84 and other important roads in Orange and Putnam counties. Authorities are telling people to check with their local Department of Transportation to get the most up-to-date information on road conditions.
