Popular Coffee Chain Rapidly Expanding Across Southern California

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — The familiar blue windmill of Dutch Bros Coffee is becoming an increasingly common sight across Southern California, and the brand’s latest location is set to open this week in Garden Grove.

Located at 9901 Westminster Ave., the new Dutch Bros shop will serve all the chain’s popular drinks, including the “Annihilator” (espresso with chocolate macadamia nut), “Double Torture” (extra double shot of espresso with vanilla and chocolate milk), and “Cocomo” (espresso with coconut and chocolate milk). Just in time for the Fourth of July, the location will also feature a festive new item: the Firecracker Rebel, topped with blue popping candy.

Founded in 1992, Dutch Bros is in the midst of aggressive expansion. Industry publication QSR Magazine reports the company is targeting 2,029 locations by 2029 — an ambitious plan that involves opening roughly 200 new stores per year.

Dutch Bros has been rapidly growing its footprint on the West Coast, with recent openings in cities like Barstow, Apple Valley, Victorville, Baldwin Park, La Habra, Covina, Fountain Valley, and Palmdale.

The company is also actively hiring for baristas, known as “broistas,” along with other support staff across the region.

While still trailing behind coffee giants like Starbucks and Dunkin’, Dutch Bros is banking on its bold drinks, loyal fanbase, and signature windmill logo to fuel its continued growth.
