Oklahoma City July 4 Fireworks 2026: Schedule, Event Timings, Parking, and Best Viewing Spots

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — Oklahoma City is preparing for a packed Independence Day weekend as Red, White & Boom! returns to Scissortail Park, followed by several Fourth of July celebrations across the metro. While the city’s signature patriotic concert and fireworks take place on Friday, July 3, Oklahoma City offers plenty of July 4 festivities, making it one of the state’s top holiday destinations.

Oklahoma City Holiday Weekend Schedule

The biggest downtown celebration is Red, White & Boom!, presented by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic at Scissortail Park.

According to the official event page:

  • 8:30 p.m. – Free Oklahoma City Philharmonic concert
  • Approximately 9:45 p.m. – Fireworks immediately following the concert
  • Admission is completely free
  • Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Although the concert is held on July 3, it officially kicks off Oklahoma City’s Independence Day weekend and remains the city’s signature fireworks event.

July 4 Events Across Oklahoma City

The celebration continues on Saturday, July 4 with several major attractions.

OKANA Star Spangled Beach Bash

OKANA Indoor Waterpark & Resort hosts a full day of entertainment featuring:

  • Live DJ
  • Beach games
  • Family activities
  • Food and drinks
  • Fireworks finale

The celebration runs throughout July 4.

Oklahoma City Comets Baseball

Baseball fans can watch the Oklahoma City Comets take on the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, with a postgame fireworks show following the game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Frontier City’s Star-Spangled Nights

Frontier City celebrates July 3 and July 4 with extended park hours, thrill rides, and nightly fireworks after dark.

Best Places to Watch Fireworks

Scissortail Park

The official viewing location for Red, White & Boom!, offering the closest views of both the Oklahoma City Philharmonic performance and the fireworks display.

Love’s Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn

Visitors gathering on the Great Lawn enjoy one of the best viewing experiences while listening to the live orchestra before the fireworks begin.

Bricktown

For those attending the Oklahoma City Comets game, Bricktown provides another excellent fireworks experience on July 4 after baseball.

Frontier City

Families spending Independence Day at the amusement park can enjoy rides all day before the evening fireworks show.

Parking and Transportation

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic recommends using Embark Parking for downtown parking maps and garage locations around Scissortail Park. Arriving early is advised because thousands of visitors are expected for the free concert and fireworks.

Guests attending Scissortail Park should bring:

  • Lawn chairs
  • Blankets
  • Water
  • Picnic items (where permitted)

The park’s large lawn fills quickly before the concert begins, so arriving well ahead of 8:30 p.m. is recommended.

Why Oklahoma City Stands Out in 2026

Unlike many cities that focus on a single fireworks show, Oklahoma City spreads its Independence Day celebrations across an entire weekend. Visitors can enjoy a world-class symphony concert, multiple fireworks displays, professional baseball, waterpark entertainment, and theme park celebrations without leaving the metro area.

The combination of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s Red, White & Boom!, family-friendly attractions, and several fireworks options makes Oklahoma City one of the Midwest’s best destinations for celebrating Independence Day in 2026.
