Communities across the Wisconsin Rapids area are preparing to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks shows, parades, live music, and family-friendly activities. Here’s a full guide to the area’s top events happening July 3-5.
Adams: VFW Fourth of July Picnic & Parade
- Parade starts at 10 a.m., lineup begins at 8 a.m. at the Adams County Fairgrounds (Adams County J)
- Picnic runs from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Adams-Friendship VFW, 172 N. Linden Street
Friendship: Friendship Lake Boat Parade & Fireworks
- Boat Parade on Friendship Lake at 7:30 p.m., July 4
- Annual fireworks show at dusk, approximately 9:30 p.m., sponsored by the Nadine Ashworth family
Pittsville: 63rd Annual Legion-Lions Fourth of July Celebration
- July 3:
- Children’s race at 6:15 p.m., Heart and Sole Run/Walk at 7 p.m., Riverside Park
- Carnival begins in the evening
- Rising Phoenix performs from 7 to 11 p.m. at Riverside Park
- July 4:
- Parade begins at noon, followed by a Fifth Quarter performance at Riverside Park
- Live music: Tuck Pence from 2 to 5 p.m., Mike Nanstad from 5 to 9 p.m.
- Fireworks at dusk at Riverside Park
Rome: Lake Sherwood Independence Day Festivities
- Date: July 5, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., 1146 W. Queens Way
- Activities: Children’s games, cornhole tournament, food trucks, ski show, live music by Southbound
- Fireworks at dusk
Stevens Point: Riverfront Rendezvous
- Dates: July 3-5 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park
- Activities: Live music, market, family zone, children’s play area, food vendors, picnic table tent, beer tent
- Fireworks launched from the Wisconsin River at dusk, July 5
Wisconsin Rapids: Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show
- Festivities begin at 6 p.m. on both sides of the Wisconsin River
- Live music by Mill Creek Cowtippers from 6 to 9 p.m. on Second Street between Grand Avenue and Jackson Street bridges
- Wisconsin Rapids City Band performs at 7:30 p.m. outside Centralia Center, 220 Third Ave. S.
- Fireworks launched from the Wisconsin River at dusk, approximately 9:30 p.m.
