Columbus and surrounding communities are set to light up the sky and fill the streets with parades, fireworks, and family-friendly festivities this Thursday and Friday, July 4. From patriotic performances to quirky parades, here’s where residents and visitors can celebrate Independence Day in Central Ohio.
Columbus 4th of July Celebrations
- National Veterans Memorial and Museum, 300 West Broad Street, July 4
The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. offering engaging activities including an educational flag activity, a unique “Red, White, & Blue Elephant Toothpaste” launch with COSI, and guided tours with NVMM President retired Army Col. Bill Butler. - 42nd Annual Doo Dah Parade, Goodale Park and Short North Arts District, July 4
The self-proclaimed “craziest parade in history” begins at 1 p.m., with lineup starting at noon on Park Street. No pre-registration or entry fee required. This year’s Less-Than-Grand Marshal is NBC4’s Colleen Marshall.
A free block party at the Goodale Park Gazebo runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with live music before and after the parade.
