Fort Lauderdale, Florida — Fort Lauderdale is preparing for one of South Florida’s biggest Independence Day celebrations as the city hosts its annual 4th of July Spectacular in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary. The free beachfront celebration combines live concerts, family entertainment, interactive activities, a spectacular drone show, and a dazzling fireworks finale over the Atlantic Ocean.

The celebration begins at 12:00 p.m. and continues throughout the afternoon and evening at Las Olas Oceanside Park and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Event Schedule

  • 12:00–5:00 p.m. — Kids Zone featuring inflatable water slides, arts & crafts, face painting, games, and family activities
  • 12:00 p.m. — Tribute to the Troops patriotic music
  • 1:00–7:30 p.m. — Live DJs and entertainment
  • 7:30–8:45 p.m.Walker Hayes live concert
  • 8:45 p.m. — America250 Drone Show
  • 9:00 p.m. — Fireworks Spectacular

Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy food vendors, beach games, contests, and live performances on multiple stages.

Fireworks Start Time

The official Fort Lauderdale Fireworks Spectacular begins at 9:00 p.m.

Before the fireworks, spectators will be treated to an 8:45 p.m. drone show featuring hundreds of illuminated drones creating patriotic images above Fort Lauderdale Beach. Immediately afterward, fireworks will light up the Atlantic shoreline in one of South Florida’s premier Independence Day finales.

Las Olas Oceanside Park

The official event venue offers the closest views of the concert, drone show, and fireworks, making it the most popular location for visitors.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

The public beach north and south of Las Olas Boulevard provides excellent free viewing of both the drone show and fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean.

Water Taxi & Fireworks Cruises

For a unique experience, the Water Taxi and several local cruise operators offer waterfront viewing opportunities. The Water Taxi operates until 11:00 p.m., with boarding recommended before 7:30 p.m. for the fireworks.

Parking and Traffic

Because tens of thousands of visitors are expected, officials recommend planning ahead.

Beach parking lots charge a $25 special event rate and include:

  • Las Olas Garage
  • Fort Lauderdale Beach Park
  • North Beach Village Parking Lot

Downtown Parking

Additional parking is available at:

  • Riverwalk Center Garage
  • E. Clay Shaw Lot West

Visitors can also use the Water Taxi or rideshare services to avoid congestion.

Road Closures

Motorists should expect major traffic impacts, including:

  • Las Olas Boulevard (A1A to Seabreeze Boulevard) closed from 6:00 a.m. until midnight
  • Additional traffic restrictions beginning around 8:00 p.m.
  • Heavy congestion before and after the fireworks

Officials strongly encourage arriving well before the evening concert.
