Former Gainesville Mayoral Candidate Missing Since June Faces Murder Charges in Tennessee

According to online documents from the Giles County Jail, a former mayoral candidate from Gainesville who was reported missing in June has been charged with murder in Tennessee.

Adam Arthur Rosenthal, 39, is accused of homicide, aggravated assault, and evidence tampering. He was a candidate for mayor of Gainesville in 2022. December 10 is the date of his upcoming court appearance.

A news outlet claims that after Darren Gambrel’s body was discovered Tuesday afternoon in the town of Pulaski, which is roughly 75 miles south of Nashville, Rosenthal was immediately under suspicion.

Giles County Sheriff Joe Purvis carried out two search warrants on premises owned by The Twelve Tribes, a local offshoot of a Christian organization that some have characterized as a cult, according to the Pulaski Citizen.

According to Purvis, Rosenthal has been a part of the gang for six to nine months, according to the Pulaski Citizen.

Rosenthal was last seen in April at the now-closed Space Bar next to Cypress & Grove Brewing Co. in Gainesville, according to a page made on the Missing People In America website.
