Dallas Trick-or-Treat Times 2026: Halloween Date, Hours and Local Events

Dallas, TX — Halloween is almost here, and Dallas families are beginning to search for trick-or-treat times, Halloween events and places to take children on October 31, 2026. This year, Halloween falls on a Saturday, giving families a full weekend to enjoy costumes, candy and community celebrations.

One important thing to know is that Dallas does not have one universal trick-or-treating time that applies to every neighborhood. Traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating can vary by neighborhood, while organized Halloween events have their own published schedules.

When Is Halloween in Dallas in 2026?

Halloween will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Families planning to go trick-or-treating should check their neighborhood, homeowners association or local community organization for any specific recommendations or scheduled activities. Organized events may also provide set hours for children and families.

What Time Is Trick-or-Treating in Dallas?

There is no single citywide trick-or-treating schedule for all of Dallas.

However, several organized Halloween celebrations have confirmed times for October 31.

One of the largest downtown options is Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets, which will take place at Main Street Garden Park on Halloween night. The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 31 and is free to attend. Downtown Dallas, Inc. says the celebration will include treats, entertainment and activities for children and families.

Families should remember that the 4–7 p.m. schedule applies to this organized downtown event, not to every Dallas neighborhood.

Dallas Trick-or-Treat Event on October 31

The 8th annual Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets will be held at Main Street Garden Park, 1902 Main Street, on October 31.

The free Halloween celebration is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and is being presented by Downtown Dallas, Inc., in partnership with H-E-B. The event is designed as a family-friendly Halloween celebration with costumes, treats, live entertainment and additional activities planned for the evening.

This gives families looking for a specific Halloween schedule in central Dallas a confirmed option for October 31.

West Dallas Trunk-or-Treat 2026

Another option for families is the Trunk-or-Treat ’26 event organized by Mercy Street and Buckner International.

San Antonio Trick-or-Treat Times 2026: Halloween Date, Hours and What to Know

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mercy Street Sports Complex in West Dallas. Families can attend in costume and participate in a community Halloween celebration with treats and fall activities. Registration is required for admission.

Because this event has its own schedule and registration requirements, families should check the latest event information before attending.

Free Halloween Family Festival in Dallas

Families with younger children can also consider Stage Fright: A Halloween Family Festival at Sammons Park.

The free event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 31 and is presented by the AT&T Performing Arts Center in collaboration with the Dallas Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs. Activities include a costume contest, music, a petting zoo, Halloween-themed activities and a “stick-r-treat” activity involving Dallas Police Department units.

The event is especially useful for families looking for daytime Halloween activities before evening trick-or-treating.

What Dallas Families Should Know Before Trick-or-Treating

The most important point for parents is that Dallas does not have one official trick-or-treat time covering every neighborhood. Organized events such as Downtown Dallas’ 4–7 p.m. celebration have confirmed schedules, but private neighborhood trick-or-treating can follow different patterns.

Families should check local neighborhood announcements and event organizers for the latest information, particularly if they have young children or plan to visit a specific community.

With Halloween falling on a Saturday in 2026, Dallas families have several opportunities to celebrate throughout October 31, from daytime family festivals to afternoon and evening trick-or-treat events.
