Baldwin County High-Speed Chase Ends with Deputy Crash, Motorcyclist on the Run

Baldwin County, AL – A late-night pursuit in Baldwin County turned chaotic Wednesday when a motorcyclist fled from deputies, leading to a high-speed chase that ended with a deputy crashing his patrol vehicle and the suspect escaping on foot.

The incident began around 10 p.m. on Highway 59 near Stapleton when a Baldwin County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a motorcyclist. The rider refused to comply, speeding off through heavy rain and slippery roads.

“The road conditions last night were bad because of the weather,” said Sheriff Anthony Lowery. “Unfortunately, the deputy lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole.”

A few miles from the crash site, deputies found the abandoned motorcycle, along with the rider’s helmet and personal items. The suspect, however, had already fled the scene.
