Sioux Falls, South Dakota — Sioux Falls is preparing for one of its biggest Independence Day celebrations in years as the city honors America’s 250th birthday with a full day of patriotic events. From the return of the downtown parade to an evening packed with live entertainment and one of South Dakota’s largest free fireworks shows, residents and visitors have plenty to look forward to.

The celebration begins downtown before moving to the fairgrounds for the evening festivities.

  • 6:00 p.m. — Sioux Falls Municipal Band performance

The official Sioux Falls Fireworks Show begins at 10:00 p.m.

The professionally choreographed fireworks display takes place at the W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds and is synchronized to patriotic music broadcast on Sunny 93.3 FM. The event is considered the city’s signature Independence Day celebration.

  • Use the complimentary shuttle service provided from designated lots
  • Bring lawn chairs if sitting outside the grandstand
