Event Schedule

  • 11:00 a.m. — Food vendors and community booths open
  • 12:00 p.m.–8:45 p.m. — Live music at the West Beach Bandstand

  • Approximately 9:00 p.m. — 20-minute Fireworks Spectacular

Visitors are welcome to bring blankets and beach chairs, with reserved viewing areas allowed beginning at 6:00 a.m. on July 4.

The official Santa Barbara Fourth of July Fireworks Show begins at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Parking and Traffic

Because this is Santa Barbara’s largest annual waterfront celebration, visitors should plan ahead.

Officials recommend:

  • Arrive before 3:00 p.m.
  • Waterfront parking lots will open but fill quickly.
  • Stearns Wharf closes to vehicle traffic at 3:30 p.m.
  • State Street (Gutierrez Street to Cabrillo Boulevard) closes at 6:00 p.m.
  • Cabrillo Boulevard also closes to vehicle traffic beginning at 6:00 p.m.
  • Consider using the Downtown–Waterfront Shuttle before evening road closures.

Heavy traffic is expected before and after the fireworks.
