A woman’s body was discovered on the side of the I-10 Freeway in Mid-City on Sunday morning, and an investigation is currently underway.
According to a California Highway Patrol press release, Caltrans employees made the discovery at approximately nine in the morning along westbound lanes just east of La Brea Avenue.
Officers claimed they were called to the area after discovering a white blanket covering the body near the freeway’s Accident Inspection Site turnaround.
The identify of the woman and her potential cause of death have not yet been disclosed by investigators. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced her dead on the spot.
“The incident is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Southern Division Major Crimes Unit,” the notice from the CHP stated.
