Woman killed in Springfield hit-and-run, police say

The public is being asked to assist Western Massachusetts authorities in their search for the driver who killed a lady in a hit-and-run accident in Springfield on Monday morning.

Around 10:20 a.m., Springfield police said officers were called to the 100 block of Bowles Street in response to a complaint of a pedestrian-involved single-vehicle collision. According to authorities, the lady pedestrian passed away from her wounds after being transported to Baystate Medical Center.

The white Acura sedan’s driver left the site of the accident.

Authorities posted pictures of the vehicle and requested that anybody with information call investigators at (413) 787-6300.

The Hampden County District Attorney’s office and Springfield police are investigating the fatal collision.
