There were cheers from the governor of West Virginia on Sunday for the miners from the Mountain State who are helping western North Carolina rebuild after Hurricane Helene.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice posted a picture of nine men on Sunday who are said to have helped rebuild a road from Bat Cave, West Virginia, to Chimney Rock, North Carolina.
Justice said, “This is yet another reason why West Virginia miners are the best in the world.”
Social media users liked the group more after videos of them helping to fix the road were shared.
Western North Carolina was flooded badly after Hurricane Helene, and it has taken weeks to rebuild infrastructure and get service back to the area.
