Trump Signs ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ at White House During July 4 Celebration

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump marked Independence Day with a high-profile bill signing at the White House, fulfilling his promise to deliver what he called his “big, beautiful bill” by July 4.

The legislation, which narrowly passed the House Thursday afternoon, was signed during a festive celebration on the South Lawn, where members of the military and their families gathered. The ceremony included a dramatic military flyover featuring B-2 stealth bombers and other aircraft.

Trump used the holiday to highlight his signature legislative victory and to kick off “America 250,” a series of events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, exactly one year away.

“As we approach the 250th anniversary of America’s founding exactly one year from now, we are creating an economy that delivers wealth for the middle class, a border that is sovereign and secure, and a military that is unmatched, unequaled anywhere in the world,” Trump said Friday evening.

The former president, who has frequently touted his economic agenda, called the measure “massive” and said it would supercharge growth.

“This bill will fuel massive economic growth and lift up the hardworking citizens who make this country run,” Trump declared. “Our country is going to be a rocket ship economically.”

Some Republican lawmakers, however, have expressed skepticism about the bill’s long-term economic impact, signaling lingering divisions within the party.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., along with members of Trump’s cabinet and other congressional allies, stood alongside the president as he signed the bill into law.
