Suspect Arrested in Butler County Robbery and Assault Case

During the early morning hours of Friday, March 28, a robbery, break-in, and assault occurred in Butler County. As a result of these crimes, a man is currently in serious condition, and a suspect has been taken into custody.

Police from the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 300 block of Stewart Road in Washington Township on Friday morning, just before three o’clock, in response to a report of a robbery that had occurred there. As soon as they arrived, they discovered that a man who was 42 years old had suffered severe brain injuries. Although he was taken to the hospital, he ultimately required air transportation to a hospital in the Pittsburgh region in order to receive treatment.

After conducting an investigation, it was determined that the culprit was Dylan Hinchberger, who was 31 years old. Hinchberger had forcefully entered the residence of the victim, and before the victim returned home, he took many firearms. As soon as the victim arrived back at his residence, Hinchberger assaulted him and robbed him outside of the residence. Despite the fact that the victim made an attempt to flee into his own home, Hinchberger followed him inside and proceeded to abuse him. Next, Hinchberger discharged a firearm that he was employing in the course of the robbery.

Hinchberger stole a car and fled the scene after attacking the victim. He eventually crashed into a tree and then continued to run on foot. Hinchberger was ultimately successful in taking the car.

Cell phone data allowed state police to discover that Hinchberger was hiding inside a Quality Inn motel in Grove City. This information was obtained by the state police.

As law enforcement officers gathered on the hotel, Hinchberger escaped via a window on the second floor and into the surrounding forest. State police were successful in locating him, and after a subsequent battle, they were able to take him into custody.

He was transported to the Butler barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police, where he is still being held in jail.

It has been stated by the police that there are no dangers to the neighborhood.
