On Sunday, South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed his own party members who are backing Vice President Kamala Harris’s run for president, asking them, “What the hell are you doing?”
Graham said on “Meet the Press” on NBC News, “You’re supporting the most radical nominee in the history of American politics.”
In the past few weeks, some well-known Republicans, including former GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger and several former Trump administration officials, have backed Harris.
He also said, “The policies of Biden and Harris are dangerous to this country.” “She is responsible for everything that went wrong.” I can’t stand this crap for four more years.
He said these things after interviewer Kristen Welker asked him several questions about Trump’s rising rhetoric in recent weeks, such as the times he called Democrats “the enemy from within.”
In a speech this month in Coachella, California, Trump called Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) “the enemy from within.” In a taped interview with Fox News on Sunday morning, Trump went even further, calling Schiff “the enemy from within again” and these people “radical-left lunatics.”
As Democrats criticized Trump’s words, the former president made them even stronger by talking about “the enemy from within” again on “Fox & Friends” and in a podcast.
He said on an episode of the podcast “OutKick,” “We have a bigger problem from within and they hate it.” He also said, “It’s a story they don’t like.”
Graham mostly didn’t care about Trump’s words. He told Welker, “We’re winning and going to win, not because of what Donald Trump says, but because of what they’ve done for four years.”
The senator said that Americans wanted a change in policy during this election and linked Harris to the government of the late Vice President, Joe Biden. “If you ask Vice President Harris, ‘What would you do differently?’ she says, ‘Nothing comes to mind.'”
Graham seemed to be talking about things Harris said in “The View” earlier this month, in which Republicans attacked her.
The hosts of that show asked Harris if there was anything she would have done differently than Biden. Harris said, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”
