Parts of New York and Pennsylvania are getting heavy rain and thunderstorms

These will spread out across the area, with most of the energy moving north of the big towns. On the other side, it will be 70 degrees for a few days before the weekend, when it will be much cooler. On Friday, before our cold front comes through, it will cool down, and there is a chance of some brief but welcome rain.

We are seeing the same showers and thunderstorms in the Southeast as we did a few days ago. High pressure is pushing the storms back inland. You can expect clouds, rain, and thunder along the coasts of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia today and maybe tomorrow. The steady flow onshore could also make the tides higher and cause some minor coastal flooding. This is because the flow helps push water into the back bays.

Our biggest concern is still the chance of severe weather tomorrow in the Midwest. Heavy thunderstorms will start when low pressure leaves the Rockies and meets warmer, more humid air. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will start as single events but will eventually group and make a fairly straight line across parts of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

In the end, these will end up in Arkansas, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Strong storms could also reach northeast Texas and upper Louisiana, depending on how things turn out in the end. You should be ready for strong winds, big hail, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and even a few tornadoes. From west to east, this looks like it will happen from late tomorrow morning to early Thursday morning.

Today will have clouds and sun, with a small chance of a few showers before our warm front comes through. The high today will be around 60 degrees.

Tomorrow will be sunny and warm, with highs in the mid-70s across most of the country. Thursday is going to be sunny and 75 to 80 degrees.

On Friday, clouds will move in ahead of the next cold front, which could lead to a few days of rain. Friday’s highs will be in the low to mid-70s. Saturday will be near 60 degrees and sunny.
