Man who allegedly followed woman in Brookline might also be suspected Allston/Brighton prowler, police say

According to police, a man who was seen in multiple backyards in Allston and Brighton earlier this month might be the same individual who is suspected of following a woman in Brookline.

In addition to photos from the incident that Boston police previously shared about the man’s suspected prowling in Allston/Brighton, Brookline police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man.

Photos of individuals reportedly involved in events along Kilsyth Road on July 7, 12, 15, and 16 between midnight and one in the morning were published by Boston police last week. One suspect has been recognized, according to the police, but up to two more are still unidentified. The suspect, who is said to speak Spanish, entered a local backyard in each case before leaving on Kilsyth or Colliston Road.

Kilsyth Road is at the town line, and Brookline police reported Wednesday that a similar event occurred on Beacon St. and could be connected to the Boston incidents.

A woman in Brookline said she was followed by a man who kept asking her if she was lost from the Beacon Street and Ayr Road area. Even after she said she wasn’t lost, he apparently continued to follow her.

According to authorities, the woman sought safety in a Beacon Street vestibule.

She was standing in the vestibule when the man tried to enter. According to the authorities, the flyer’s color photo was taken just seconds later. The Boston Police Department believes multiple people are responsible for these acts.

According to police, neither of the guys is now wanted on charges, but the agency is requesting assistance in identifying the males.
