This week marked the launch of Live Music at Logan, a collaboration between Massport and the Mass Cultural Council, at Logan International Airport. According to a news release from Massport, the program’s goal is to lessen stress associated with travel.
Local professional musicians and college students perform live at Terminals B and C’s baggage claims as part of a pilot program that began on July 1. Massport says local musicians will improve the traveler experience by performing a varied roster.
According to Massport, Boston is fortunate to have a number of colleges and universities with excellent music departments. Students will have the opportunity to perform for the millions of people who pass through Boston Logan and possibly get more paid gigs.
According to Massport, musicians receive payment for their performances, and local musicians are urged to submit applications.
Logan International Airport is owned and run by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), which also runs the public terminals at Hanscom Field, Worcester Regional Airport, and the Port of Boston.
