Independence Day is here, and cities and towns across Mississippi are gearing up for a weekend full of patriotic fun, live music, family activities, and, of course, fireworks.

With the holiday falling on a Friday this year, celebrations will roll into the weekend, giving residents and visitors plenty of chances to soak up the red, white, and blue spirit. From Tupelo to Natchez and Gulfport to Yazoo City, the Magnolia State is ready to celebrate America’s birthday in style.

Friday, July 4

Roosevelt State Park, Morton
All-day Fun & Fireworks

  • Sparkz & Restoration Car & Truck Show, boat parade, festival games, contests, vendors, and more.
  • Fireworks over the lake at 8:45 p.m.
  • Admission: $5

Freedom Festival, Yazoo City

  • Free clothes and grocery giveaway, bounce houses, water slides, live music.
  • Starts at 11 a.m., fireworks at dusk.
  • Admission: Free

Bonita Lakes, Meridian

  • Live music by Daniel Houze & Vibe Tribe, vendors, and fireworks over the lake.
  • Gates open at 3:30 p.m., fireworks after dark.

Olive Branch City Park
