With the arrival of summer comes a constant barrage of fireworks, the majority of which are held on July 4th and in observance of the Fourth of July. Every weekend through mid-July, communities throughout Massachusetts will put on fireworks displays, and in the days and weeks ahead, the Department of Fire Services (DFS) is anticipated to grant additional permits to towns.
The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, which marks its 51st year on the Esplanade this July 4, is the most prominent fireworks event in the area each year. The celebration this year includes a fireworks extravaganza with conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra, a headlining performance by LeAnn Rimes, and additional performances by Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. and Boston-bred duo Bell Biv Devoe.
However, there are many other Fourth of July weekend events worth seeing besides the yearly concert. For many years, numerous municipalities in the Greater Boston area have been perfecting their own amazing fireworks displays.
The list of more than 90 fireworks events that are planned for Massachusetts from Provincetown to Pittsfield (and all points in between) through the end of the summer is provided below.
If your local fireworks show isn’t on the list, check back the following Friday to see if your town’s fireworks permit has been authorized by the department. If so, we’ll update the list.
Furthermore, some of the fireworks displays below aren’t just for the Fourth of July. For instance, fireworks are scheduled for religious feasts, local block festivals, and sporting events. However, you will have all the knowledge you require the next time you glance out the window and ask yourself, “Wait, are there fireworks near me right now?” regardless of the occasion.
