SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA — Communities across Southeast Louisiana are preparing to light up the sky with dazzling fireworks displays and family-friendly events in celebration of Independence Day.

From St. Tammany Parish to Terrebonne Parish, residents and visitors alike will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy patriotic festivities. Here’s a breakdown of this year’s Fourth of July celebrations by parish:

St. Tammany Parish

The festivities kick off early with multiple fireworks shows and community events:

  • Slidell Heritage Fest, Heritage Park: Saturday, June 28, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sparks in the Park, Bogue Falaya Wayside Park: Saturday, June 28, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Pearl River Independence Day Celebration, Downtown Pearl River: Saturday, June 28, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Pearl River Fourth of July Celebration, Downtown Pearl River & Town Hall: Thursday, July 3, until 9 p.m.
  • Light Up the Lake Independence Day Celebration, Mandeville Lakefront: Friday, July 4, starting at 3 p.m.
  • Madisonville Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, Tchefuncte Riverfront and Town Hall: Friday, July 4, 10 a.m. to dusk.
  • Olde Towne Slidell Fourth of July Celebration, Carey, Cousin and Robert Streets: Friday, July 4, 4 p.m.
  • Abita Springs Fourth of July Celebration of Community, Abita Springs Trailhead Park: Friday, July 4, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Orleans Parish

New Orleans will host some of the region’s most iconic celebrations:

  • City Park’s Happy Third of July Fireworks Show: Thursday, July 3, 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
  • Go 4th on the River, along the historic New Orleans Riverfront: Friday, July 4, fireworks at 9 p.m.

Jefferson Parish

  • Uncle Sam Jam, LaFreniere Park in Metairie: Thursday, July 3, starting at 6 p.m.
  • Grand Isle 4th of July Celebration, Bridge Side:
    • Chase Taylor Band performance: July 4, 10 p.m. to midnight
    • Fireworks & Fun: July 5, 10 p.m. to midnight

St. Charles Parish

  • Independence Day Celebration, West Bank Bridge Park: Thursday, July 3, 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Lafourche Parish

  • Let Freedom Ring Festival, Peltier Park in Thibodaux: Friday, July 4, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Terrebonne Parish

  • The Good Earth 4th of July Festival, Bayou Country Sports Park: Friday, July 4, starting at 2 p.m.

St. John the Baptist Parish

  • St. John Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show:
    • St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve
    • St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard
    • Both locations: Thursday, July 3, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

St. Bernard Parish

  • St. Bernard Salutes America, Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center Grounds: Friday, July 4, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Fireworks Use Regulations

Residents are reminded to follow legal fireworks guidelines:

  • General Use: June 25 to July 5
    • June 25: Noon to 9 p.m.
    • June 26 – July 2: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • July 3 – 4: 9 a.m. to midnight
    • July 5: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • St. Bernard Parish:
    • June 25 – July 4: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
    • July 5: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
