The stairs that leads to the living room, kitchen, and private areas is typically the first thing one sees when entering a split-level house.

However, the next owner of this house might think about moving downstairs. It descends into the partially completed basement, which has a cathedral-like arched doorway and a support column. There is parquet flooring at the base of the stairs.

They lead to the 194-square-foot family room, which features a traditional split-level advantage: every window is significantly larger than those seen in other types of homes and well above ground. The mid-wall knotty pine wainscotting and the blonde-toned crown molding are other prominent features in the family room. There is carpet on the floor.

The family room and the wooden wet bar, which together with a working wood-burning fireplace, add 166 square feet to the open floor design of this level. The bar features parquet flooring, knotty pine wainscotting, seating for four or more, a refrigerator, and a sink. The fireplace is a few steps from the bar.

This floor houses the home’s secondary bathroom (toilet only, sink next to bar). A workshop with built-in shelves is located off the family area as well. Access to the single-car attached garage is accessible, as is storage in another room.

The new owners would have reached the 182-square-foot living room if they had walked upstairs from the 24-square-foot entrance. This room and every other room in the house, excluding the kitchen and bathroom, have original oak flooring.

A second wood-burning fireplace with a gold-colored inset and red brick surrounds it in the living room. The outside wall on the left had three double-hung windows. On the right, ornamental beams and spindles in mahogany tones atop a three-quarter-height wall.

A doorway leads from the living room into the rectangle kitchen, which is 154 square feet. The gas stove, a sizable stainless steel refrigerator, and the first set of hickory kitchen cabinets are all located directly to the right. The backsplash looks like tin, and the countertop is graygranite with light accents. Above the counter are additional hickory cabinets. Tile is used for flooring.

The kitchen terminates in a slider that opens to the 323-square-foot back terrace, which offers a view of the fruit trees and grape vines in the backyard. The backyard has an above-ground pool that has to be repaired as well as an electrically powered shed.

The rest of the first level is devoted to the private area. On the right is the only complete bathroom. It has a shower/bath combo behind a curtain, tile floors, and a single vanity. Subway tiling that is mid-height on the walls and continues into the shower/bath area. Tile is also used for the flooring.

The secondary bedrooms, which are 121 and 132 square feet, are located at the end of the hall, past the main bedroom, which is 154 square feet. The larger of the secondary bedrooms includes carpeting, and all three have sliding closet doors.

The main bedroom features carpeting, double-hung windows on two external walls, and thin molding around the floor and windows.

This house is nine minutes’ walk from the MBTA’s West Natick commuter rail station. The property is behind the railroads.

The listed agent, Shepard Long of Advocate Realty Associates in Kingston, claims that the house, which has gas heating and central air conditioning, needs some remodeling.
