Behind it comes cooler weather, and it will drop into the 60s. Then it will drop even more, to the 50s on Sunday and Monday. People in the middle of the Northeast, especially those living at higher elevations or in valleys, could also see strong frost overnight Sunday into Monday.
Also, we are still seeing an onshore flow happen along the eastern shores of Florida. There are still a few tropical showers and rumbles along the coast. The risk of rough seas and beach erosion has gone down, but high tides are still causing some small flooding along the coast.
Strong storms are likely to hit parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri today. This is the big news. Right now, that cold front that will bring cooler weather to the Northeast on Sunday is slowly moving across the Midwest. As it hits a warmer and more humid area, it will cause enough convection for heavy showers and thunderstorms to form in groups and lines this afternoon and evening.
Keep an eye out for these groups and lines to find storms that could get really bad. Winds that could damage some areas, big hail, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and even a tornado could happen in one area. You might see this happen in Illinois and Wisconsin as well during the night.

Rain and clouds will give way to the sun today. Today will be a bit windy, with gusts of up to 25mph coming from the north. Things will calm down tomorrow when the highs will be in the mid-60s and feel good.
What about Saturday? It will stay in the mid-60s, and when that front comes through, it won’t do anything because it will be too dry. The highs on Sunday will be between 55 and 60 degrees, and there will be a strong breeze.
Monday will stay in the 50s with sunny skies, and Tuesday will slowly warm back up to the 60s. The mild air is trying to push back, and by Wednesday, it might be in the 70s here.
