Bringing New England’s first IPA to its newest location at Queen City Center, Harpoon Brewery opened its doors in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire, on Friday.
According to the company website, it will be located at 217 Canal St., close to the historic former R.G. Sullivan Cigar Company building. It is Harpoon’s third brewery location and its first in the Granite State.
According to a release, the about 9,000-square-foot facility will have two private event spaces, a modern bar that can hold 50 people, and a restaurant and taproom that can seat 215 people. There will also be a deck and outdoor beer garden with more than 80 seats.
In addition to 20 tap lines, the brewery will provide wine, cocktails, and a variety of craft brews. Snacks, small plates, bar pies, large dishes, a kid’s menu, and weekend brunch options will all be featured on the food menu.
Charlie Storey, vice president of special events and beer festivals for Harpoon, stated in the statement that the company has devoted followers throughout the Northeast and beyond. We are thrilled to offer craft beer enthusiasts a brand-new, fascinating public house location.
“We can’t wait to welcome the community, and the space is fantastic,” he added.
The press announcement states that General Manager John Maggs will serve a range of modern American fare while honoring Manchester’s rich culinary history, which includes the Tender Town Tower (because it is the world’s capital of chicken tenders).
Additionally, a bar pie—a thin, pan-cooked pizza with crispy, cheese-caramelized edges—will be served at the eatery.
Harpoon announced on Instagram that the place is now accessible to the general public. Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
After being idle for around 25 years, Harpoon Brewery was established in 1986 and became the first brewery to brew commercially in Boston. Since then, it has spread beyond of Boston’s Seaport District, with shops in Windsor, Vermont, Logan Airport, and a Boston Common Summer pop-up.
