by DeKalb County, Georgia — A 43-year-old Georgia woman died after being fatally mauled by dogs inside her home, authorities confirmed, as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Mynoviah Tinsley. An autopsy determined her manner of death to be an accident, with the cause listed as exsanguination due to multiple penetrating and avulsive injuries — meaning she suffered fatal blood loss from severe traumatic wounds.
Officials said the injuries were consistent with an animal attack.
Police Responded to Morning Emergency Call
Officers with the DeKalb County Police Department responded to an emergency call during the morning hours of Feb. 24, according to Public Information Officer Elise Wells.
When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered Tinsley’s body inside the home.
Police also found multiple dogs surrounding the body, and the animals were described as being “covered in what appeared to be blood,” Wells said.
Authorities have not released additional details about the number or breed of dogs involved. The case remains under investigation as officers continue gathering information.
Officials have not announced when the investigation is expected to be completed.
Medical Examiner Confirms Cause of Death
The medical examiner’s office confirmed that Tinsley’s death was ruled accidental. The autopsy findings pointed specifically to massive blood loss caused by severe injuries, consistent with a mauling.
The classification of the death as accidental indicates that investigators did not find evidence suggesting intentional harm by another person.
Still, authorities have not publicly shared further details about what may have led to the attack or whether any prior incidents involving the dogs had been reported.

Family and Community Mourn Loss
In the days following her death, family members and loved ones shared tributes on social media, remembering Tinsley — also known as “Mira” — as a devoted wife, sister and professional.
Her husband, who frequently shared photos of dogs on his social media account, posted emotional messages following her passing.
“Please pray for me yall I loss my other half today…..Hellllllp,” he wrote in one post. “I feel so dead,” he added in another message.
Tinsley’s sister, LaMel Sales, also paid tribute, describing her as a “devoted wife and aunt” who was active in the Columbus community.
“With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved wife, daughter, emo, auntie, cousin, friend and baby sister known throughout the Columbus community, Mynoviah ‘Mira’ Sales-Tinsley has transitioned from this Earthly life,” Sales wrote.
She added that Tinsley was making her mark in the field of psychology and “aiding her patients” through her work. The family has requested privacy during this time.
Investigation Continues
Authorities have not disclosed whether the dogs involved belonged to Tinsley or her household, nor have they confirmed what actions may be taken regarding the animals.
Police say the case remains open as they continue to review evidence and gather additional details about the sequence of events.
The tragic incident has left the local community shaken, raising questions about animal safety and the unpredictable nature of severe dog attacks.
