(AP) Fort Lauderdale, Florida A Disney cruise ship’s crew rescued a girl who went overboard and her father, who dove in to save her.

According to Disney and guests who saw the rescue on camera, the Disney Dream rescue team took the girl and her father into a small boat on Sunday as the cruise ship was making its way back to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from the Bahamas on the final day of the trip.

An announcement over the ship’s loudspeakers informed passengers that someone had fallen overboard, according to a social media post by traveler Kevin Furuta.

Fortunately, both were saved by the Disney Cruise Lines rescue crew, who arrived right away! In a post to the Disney Dream Cruise Ship Group Facebook group, Furuta stated.

Regarding how the girl fell overboard, no details have been made public.

Disney said in a statement, “We applaud our crew members for their outstanding abilities and timely actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes.” This occurrence demonstrates how well our safety procedures work, and we are dedicated to our guests’ safety and wellbeing.
