Bruins reach contract agreements with three of their own players ahead of NHL free agency

The Bruins signed deals with three more in-house free agents less than twenty-four hours after locking up restricted free agent Morgan Geekie with a six-year contract extension for $5.5 million a year.

Group 6 free agent goaltender Michael DiPietro, restricted free agent winger Johnny Beecher, and unrestricted free agent defenseman Henri Jokiharju all reached new agreements.

When the Bruins sent a 2026 fourth-round draft pick to the Sabres on trade deadline day, Jokiharju traveled from Buffalo to Boston. He joined the Boston team right away and blended in well, frequently playing alongside Nikita Zadorov.

Beecher only managed three goals and eleven points in 78 games as a fourth-line center in 2024–25.

DiPietro just finished a tremendous season in Providence, going 26-8-7 with a 2.05 goals against average, a.927 saving percentage, and was selected as an AHL All-Star.
