At a house that the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office called a “horrible, tragic scene,” a 44-year-old father shot and murdered his 5-year-old son before turning the pistol on himself.
HCSO reports that at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday, the boy’s mother arrived to her husband’s house to pick him up.
For a year, the couple had been apart.
She informed deputies that no one had opened the door when she phoned them. The house was visited by deputies.
“They found the vehicle in the driveway. The door was locked. They knocked, announced, didn’t notice any nefarious activity didn’t see any signs of foul play,” Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer stated.
According to HCSO, the mother went back inside the house about 9:30 a.m. Deputies claimed that after entering, she found the bodies of her 44-year-old husband and her 5-year-old kid.
Before turning the pistol on himself, the father killed the child, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the residence located at the 17000 block of Cranbrook Drive did not initially contain any letters or notes. But now that they have a search warrant, they are looking into the house more.
According to Pamela Oliva, she has shared a home with the boy’s father for eighteen years. According to her, he was “friendly.”
“It’s casually neighborly type things. It’s not a friendship where we hung out or anything, always helped people if they needed help, always the neighbor that waves to you and stops to say hi when he sees you,” she stated.

“My heart goes out to the mother more than anybody because I couldn’t imagine losing one of my children,” a neighbor named Pamela Oliva stated.
The information is all a part of the preliminary inquiry, according to HCSO. Anyone in need is urged to contact the Spring of Tampa Bay by the sheriff’s office.
