Bismarck July 4 Fireworks 2026: Schedule, Event Timings, Parking, and Best Viewing Spots

Bismarck, North Dakota — Bismarck is celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary with its signature Red, White & Boom celebration, bringing together live entertainment, patriotic performances, interactive family activities, and one of the state’s biggest fireworks shows. The free community event takes place at the MDU Resources Community Bowl, overlooking the Missouri River, and is expected to attract thousands of spectators.

The festivities begin in the evening and continue through the fireworks finale.

Fireworks Start Time

The official Bismarck Red, White & Boom Fireworks Show begins at approximately 10:15 p.m., immediately following the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra performance.

The professionally choreographed fireworks are synchronized with a drone show, creating one of North Dakota’s most impressive America 250 celebrations.

MDU Resources Community Bowl

The official celebration venue offers the closest views of the drone show, fireworks, concerts, food vendors, and family activities.

Bavendick Field

Located adjacent to the Community Bowl, this open grassy area is one of the most popular viewing locations for families bringing blankets and lawn chairs.

Bismarck State College Campus

Several open spaces around the campus provide excellent views of the fireworks while remaining close to event activities.

Missouri River Overlook

Because the venue overlooks the Missouri River, nearby elevated viewing areas also offer scenic perspectives of the fireworks display.

Parking and Traffic

Organizers recommend planning ahead because of ongoing construction near the venue.

Visitors should:

  • Arrive before 6:00 p.m.
  • Use free parking available throughout the Bismarck State College campus
  • Follow event parking staff and posted signs
  • Expect delays leaving after the fireworks
  • Accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis

Additional campus parking lots will be opened to accommodate holiday crowds.
