Cheyenne July 4 Fireworks 2026: Schedule, Event Timings, Parking, and Best Viewing Spots

Cheyenne, Wyoming — Cheyenne is hosting one of Wyoming’s biggest America 250 celebrations with the Capital City Celebration, a full day of patriotic events honoring the nation’s 250th birthday. Visitors can enjoy parades, historical exhibits, concerts, military tributes, and a spectacular fireworks finale over the Wyoming State Capitol.

The celebration takes place throughout downtown Cheyenne and the Wyoming Capitol Complex.

Event Schedule

  • 7:00 a.m. — Firecracker 10K
  • 7:15 a.m. — Kids Fun Run
  • 7:30 a.m. — Firecracker 5K
  • 9:00 a.m. — Patriotic Parade
  • 12:00 p.m. — Food trucks and family activities open
  • 1:00 p.m. — Capitol Ceremony featuring the Color Guard, Governor’s Address, and military flyover
  • Afternoon — Live music, speaker series, and cultural performances
  • 7:30 p.m. — Jalan Crossland concert
  • 8:30 p.m. — Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra performance
  • 9:40 p.m. — Fireworks Finale

Admission is free, and many museums and historic sites around the Capitol will also be open throughout the day.

Fireworks Start Time

The official Cheyenne Fireworks Finale begins at 9:40 p.m.

Unlike previous years, the fireworks will not be held at Frontier Park. Instead, the display will launch near the Wyoming State Capitol as part of the Capital City Celebration, providing a new backdrop for the city’s largest Independence Day fireworks show.

Because this is the first year the fireworks are being held near the Capitol instead of Frontier Park, visitors should check traffic updates before heading downtown.
