Dramatic Video Captures Gunfire During SUV Repossession, Suspect Arrested

MANOR, Texas — A vehicle repossession in a Central Texas neighborhood turned chaotic when a man allegedly opened fire while chasing a tow operator, with dramatic video capturing the tense moments as shots rang out.

The incident unfolded in Manor, just outside Austin, after a repossession agent attempted to recover an SUV, according to local reports. Authorities say the situation escalated quickly as the SUV was being removed from a gated area.

Gunfire Erupts as SUV Leaves Gate

Video of the confrontation shows a suspect wearing a red shirt running after the SUV as it exits through a gate. The man appears to brandish a handgun before firing multiple shots in the direction of the vehicle.

Police told FOX 7 Austin that at least one bullet struck the SUV during the chase. Another vehicle in the parking area can be seen reversing out of a space as the gunfire erupts, narrowly avoiding the unfolding danger.

Despite the alarming scene, no injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Officials have not confirmed whether the suspect was the registered owner of the repossessed SUV or whether there had been any prior confrontation between the suspect and the repossession agent before the shooting.

Suspect Taken Into Custody

Manor police said the suspect was later taken into custody. Details about the charges he may face have not yet been publicly released, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities are continuing to review video footage and witness accounts to determine exactly what led to the shooting and whether additional charges could be filed.

Repossession Disputes Turning Violent

The Manor incident comes just weeks after another violent confrontation during a vehicle repossession in Texas.

In early February, a man in Belton was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly firing at a tow truck driver who was attempting to repossess a vehicle outside a home.

According to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect in that case confronted the driver with a handgun before the driver fled. Investigators said shots were fired and the tow truck was struck. After a standoff with negotiators, the suspect was taken into custody.

Law enforcement officials say repossessions can become volatile situations, particularly when vehicle owners are caught off guard. Authorities advise individuals involved in repossessions to avoid confrontation and allow disputes to be handled through legal channels rather than escalating into violence.

Investigation Ongoing

Police in Manor have not released additional details about potential charges or court dates. Investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events and whether any other individuals were placed at risk during the shooting.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is encouraged to contact local authorities.
