The Carver Police Department is looking into an allegation that a woman was shot Wednesday night while out for a walk with her dog.
A woman who was shot while walking her dog along Sampson Pond came into the Carver Police Department at approximately 7:37 p.m.
The woman’s leg seemed to have been shot, according to the police.
According to police, the woman had non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by EMS at the police station before being sent to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
Along with the Plymouth K-9 team, the Rochester drone unit, and the Mass. State Police Air Wing helicopter, Carver Police conducted a search of the Sampson Pond area.
Police stated after a preliminary investigation that they don’t think the public is at danger and that the shooting was an isolated incident.
According to Reading Police Chief Marc Duphily, “We are taking this report very seriously and are devoting all necessary resources to determine exactly what happened.” We ask residents to notify our department of any information they feel is pertinent to the investigation.
