Boston Legacy FC sign midfielder Aleigh Gambone

The team announced another versatile acquisition on Monday, further solidifying the Boston Legacy FC midfield.

American Aleigh Gambone hassignedwith the Legacy through 2027, and will join Bundesliga team FC N rnberg Frauen until the end of the year.

Gambone, 24, is a native of Virginia and attended the University of North Carolina to play soccer in college.

Before joining Glasgow City F.C. of the Scottish Women’s Premier League in 2023, she signed a short-term contract with Danish Women’s League team Fortuna Hj rring in 2022 to start her professional career. Gambone blossomed in Scotland.

With four goals and seven assists in 28 games in Scotland’s premier league, she won both the Coaches Player of the Year and the Players Player of the Year award in the most recent season.

Aleigh comes to the NWSL with a wealth of domestic and UEFA Women’s Champions League experience in Europe. After four years at UNC, she has a strong base upon which to expand, Legacy FC general manager Dom Guasch stated in a club statement. Aleigh is a dedicated and adaptable midfield player with a powerful physical presence and the capacity to cover territory efficiently. She will be even more ready for the 2026 NWSL season if she ends the year in the Bundesliga.

Prior to the commencement of the club’s first league season in early 2026, Legacy FC will not formally start field work. As Guasch tries to put together an expansion roster, Gambone is one of the many Boston signings.

Alba Cao, who joined Boston from Barcelona, and Annie Karich, who joined as a free agent after playing for SC Freiburg, will join her in midfield.
