Maryland Weather: Cold & less windy tonight; Mild by Sunday. BALTIMORE — Tonight and the first half of the weekend will continue to see the Arctic air that has been plaguing the area for the previous day. Tonight, clear sky and milder winds are predicted for the whole region.

Temperatures will drop to about 20 degrees in many places due to a mix of clear skies, reduced winds, and extremely dry air. Lows are predicted to fall into the low to mid-20s in the Baltimore region.

On Saturday, there will be sunshine and milder winds to start the weekend. In the afternoon, high temperatures will rise to the low 40s. The low temperature on Saturday night will drop to about 30 degrees, so it won’t be as cold.

On Sunday, there will likely be a significant warm-up. Temperatures will rise to the mid to upper 50s with the aid of westerly winds. Monday will begin in the 30s, but as the clouds build, there’s a chance of rain by late morning or early afternoon. Monday night will see more rain before it momentarily stops. Monday’s highs will be in the middle to upper 40s, with some locations even reaching 50 degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be largely overcast with highs in the mid- to upper-fiftys. The likelihood of rain is expected to rise on Tuesday night and into Wednesday. Wednesday is predicted to see the most rainfall, with some regions receiving about one inch by early Thursday.

Wednesday’s high temperatures will drop to about 50 degrees. Temperatures will drop by Wednesday night as a result of the storm system and a moving cold front. Before the precipitation finishes Wednesday night, there is a remote chance of a brief rain-snow mix, but no major effects are expected.

Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 30s to over 40 degrees, and it will be windy and chilly. Thursday night’s overnight low will return to the low to mid-20s. Friday is predicted to see highs close to 40 degrees.

Next weekend will bring more sunlight and cool temperatures. Overnight lows will be in the 30s, with Saturday highs in the 40s and Sunday highs of about 50 degrees.
