What s new in Greater Boston restaurant openings this week

A new Caribbean sit-down restaurant’s highly sought-after zip code-restricted liquor license was just granted to the Gourmet Kreyol team. The restaurant will feature a tapas-style combination of Haitian, Dominican, and Cuban cuisine, along with Caribbean cocktails, as per a recent meeting of the Licensing Board.

Washington Street, Dorchester, 657

Estella

The second site of downtown’s Estella is one of the several new eateries that are going to Patriot Place, the mall near to Gillette Stadium. Owners Lilian and George Brandao told Wicked Local that visitors can anticipate the same menu of contemporary American fusion cuisine as well as the same interior design and atmosphere.

The Essex

Kristin Jenkins, who also owns 1928 Beacon Hill, has moved a restaurant and rooftop bar into the Cambria Downtown Boston hotel. Chef Polit Castillo is the driving force behind the contemporary American cuisine at the Essex restaurant, while the Essex Rooftop offers cocktails and expansive views of Boston.

The vegetarian menu at a Moody Street Indian restaurant has been expanded to accommodate more carnivorous patrons. According to a press release, the two dishes are prepared in separate kitchens, which is even better for its vegetarian and vegan patrons.
