1,500 Thanksgiving Meals Served at Heartwarming Donelson Event. WSMV, Nashville, Tennessee Donelson Cafe and Catering hosted its 8th Annual Truly Thankful Thanksgiving meal Thursday night, which drew hundreds of attendees.
The event has grown dramatically, according to the owners, who told WSMV4 that hundreds of people attend each year to eat. The gathering on Thursday featured live entertainment and all the ingredients for Thanksgiving.
WSMV4 was informed by one participant that they came because “my grandparents didn’t want to cook.” Others revealed that their purpose was to give back. “I feel incredibly fortunate to not have to deal with food scarcity or a lack of community in my life, so I just wanted to give back.”
The proprietors revealed that without the support of their sponsors and the community, they would not have been able to accomplish anything.
