Winter Weather Advisory Snowfall and Freezing Temperatures Set to Hit Colorado

DENSERO—Thanks to a low–pressure system, Colorado will receive a lot of snow and very cold weather from late today until Monday afternoon. This will make driving very difficult, especially on Monday morning. The Denver metro area is expected to receive between 0.5 and 3 inches of snow, with more snow falling in higher mountains.

Snow showers have already started in western Colorado as the storm gets closer. This evening, the coverage is expected to grow. Late tonight, there may be a short change from rain to snow in the Denver area, with light accumulations. It might snow 3 to 8 inches in the mountains and 2 to 4 inches on the Palmer Divide. Up to 15 inches of snow may fall in the northern Larimer mountains and Winter Park, where the upslope flow will be better, resulting in higher totals.
