Just before 3 p.m. on November 30, Louisiana State Police responded to a tragic single-vehicle collision on Louisiana Hwy. 143 close to New Wall Lake Road. The crash claimed the life of Johnnie Lott, Jr., 71, of Carthage.
According to the incident’s investigation, Lott was operating a 2015 Toyota Avalon north on Louisiana Hwy. 143 when, for an undisclosed cause, he veered off the right side of the road and wrecked his car. At the scene, he was declared dead.
Although they do not believe Lott was intoxicated at the time of the collision, police have requested normal toxicology samples to be taken and examined.
