Tragedy on the 5 Freeway: Allegedly Armed Man Fatally Shot by Buena Park Police. On Tuesday afternoon, a man was shot and killed by Buena Park police.
According to a statement from the Buena Park Police Department, police were called to the I-5 Freeway and Artesia Boulevard at approximately 1 p.m. to help the California Highway Patrol with complaints of a guy who was strolling in the freeway’s lanes.
Although they did not provide any other information, they stated that the individual might have been carrying a firearm.
“Officers located the male adult on Artesia Boulevard which led to an officer involved shooting,” the statement read. “The male adult was injured, treated on scene and transported to UCI Hospital where unfortunately, he passed due to his injuries.”
The man’s identity is still unknown.
The shooting is being looked into by the California Department of Justice and the BPPD.
There were no other injuries reported in the incident.
