Three Arrested as Police Shut Down Illegal Bottle Club in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. — Police say that three people were arrested in Waterbury on Saturday for running an illegal bottle club.

Police are said to have taken over 100 bottles of booze and a lot of cash from liquor sales while they were looking into the club, which met after hours at the “COVE” Social Club on Store Avenue.

Callis Andrews, 61, the owner of the club, along with Ikaiah Vasquez, 25, and Imani Ricks, 31, were charged with running a bottle club without a permit, which is against the law. Police say Andrews is also being charged with illegally buying alcohol to sell and being open for business during certain hours and days.

All of them are set to go to court on November 15.
