The Barstow Police Department is still looking into why a 15-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run accident, they said.
Barstow Police said that around 5:01 p.m. on October 30, their dispatch center got a call about a hit-and-run accident involving a car and a pedestrian in a mobile home park in the 2400 block of West Main Street.
Barstow police officers went to the scene of the accident and found the boy with injuries that were not life-threatening. He was taken to the Barstow Community Hospital right away to get help, but cops don’t know what his status is as of Sunday.
Barstow police said they talked to several witnesses and gathered more proof. They found out that the girl driving a gray Honda Civic hit the boy while he was riding his bike through the mobile home park.
According to the investigation, the driver of the car, later identified as Rosalva Dominguez, 58, of Barstow, stopped for a short time but then left the scene of the accident and did not call the police.
Police said they found the suspect’s car parked at a house in the mobile home park at 2494 W. Main Street.
Police also called Dominguez at home and said she was the driver who hit the teen and then left the scene, according to police.
She was put into the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of hit-and-run with injuries, according to the police.
Dominguez got out of jail on October 31. Records from the sheriff’s office show that she is not yet set to appear in court.
