Successful Glenn Heights Sunset Concert Series

Glenn Heights, Texas Glenn Heights Mayor Sonja A. Brown expressed her delight and happiness at the tremendous success of the local of Glenn Heights Sunset Concert Series, which has not only brought music to our nights but has also grown to become a local landmark.

She added in her official statement that what started off as an idea to provide additional opportunities for community, culture, and connection has developed into one of the area’s most anticipated series, attracting concertgoers from both Glenn Heights and our surrounding cities. The enthusiasm at every event and the incredible response are evidence that when we invest in people, art, and atmosphere, we produce something truly remarkable.

The series began with outstanding jazz performances by the extraordinarily gifted students from Red Oak ISD and DeSoto ISD. A season full of passion, rhythm, and celebration was ushered in by their musical prowess. We then welcomed the energetic Mirek.E.L. (pronounced Miracle) and The Collective, whose contagious sound had the audience up and dancing. We were ecstatic to see Ox and the Waymakers’ incredible performance most recently; their fusion of genres and theatrics made a lasting impression.

Not to mention the taste!

Without delicious food, a musical experience isn’t complete, and our neighborhood food trucks and beverage vendors have provided it in every way! These tiny businesses have contributed bold flavors and hometown charm to every performance, from delectable nibbles to refreshing drinks. There is something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for sweet delights, savory street food, or a refreshing drink to combat the Texas heat. Come hungry, go happy, and while you’re at it, help out our fantastic local vendors!

You know what? Nor is Glenn Heights finished yet!

Make sure to mark your calendars for the city’s last two summer concerts:

  • Sunday, August 3 our Sunset Series Finale, and trust me, it s going to be a treat you won t want to miss.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the residents and visitors who have supported this series, as well as to our city employees, volunteers, and performers. Events like these are made possible by your enthusiasm, joy, and presence.

As we end the summer with music, solidarity, and the unmistakable spirit of Glenn Heights, let’s keep the momentum going.
