Today, a slow-moving weather system will bring a mix of showers and thunderstorms to the south-central part of Arizona. The western deserts will continue to be breezy to windy.
The National Weather Service in Phoenix says that high temperatures will stay in the upper 60s to mid-70s this afternoon because it will be cooler than usual.
Thunderstorms are expected to happen over higher ground around Phoenix, which could cause heavy rain and even small hail for a short time.
Also, strong winds will blow through the area. Today’s strongest gusts will reach 30 mph, and by Monday morning, they will be 35 to 45 mph. There is a Wind Advisory in effect until Monday at 1 p.m. PST, so people should stay alert as this active weather trend plays out.
