Excitement is building in Chesaning as the 112th annual Saginaw County Fair prepares to welcome families and fairgoers from Tuesday, July 29 through Saturday, August 2, at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds, located at 11350 Peet Road.
Beverly Newton, president of the Saginaw County Agricultural Society, says the fair remains rooted in community, tradition, and the joy of watching children experience the event for the first time.
“I’m always very busy, but I always make time for the kids,” Newton said. “I really like watching the youth show off the animals they bring in, and then seeing what ribbons they get.”
Classic Attractions with New Additions
As always, livestock exhibitions and competitions will be a highlight of the fair, with children and teens showcasing cows, goats, sheep, and rabbits. Newton emphasized the importance of these experiences for youth and families alike.
This year’s fair also features several new attractions, including four new rides from Big Rock Amusements, designed specifically for younger children — an expansion expected to be a major crowd-pleaser.
